Save UAL??? Is it worth saving? UAL's track record shows serious bad management problems. It has always been a super power in the airline industry but never managed its money or employees correctly. Whenever times are tough or business decisions go wrong, UAL upper management points its finger at the employees and trys to win concessions from the union groups. UAL needs a management clean up from top to bottom. Southwest's success is due to content employees that have always been treated fairly by management. A good employee group that is happy with its company will always go the extra mile. UAL needs to remember that it is an airline...and focus on its core business of transportation. UAL needs to convince the employees and the public that they are commited to providing an excellent product, and it will start with a replacement NOW of the CEO and all his henchmen. Bring a people person in and put a strategic plan in place NOW...this week. UAL does not need anymore doom and gloom letters conveniently leaked to the press by a CEO that is blaming all his bad management decisions on a national tragedy that happened in September..
