Say I go to the Home Depot and buy something for $100 today. Next week I return it and they give me $120 back. I would call the first $100 a refund. The other $20 I would call a mistake.
But can you sleep at night knowing that the poor checker is out of balance and has now lost his job and will be soon going to be supported by welfare, extended unemployment compensation, food stamps, government chees and section 8 housing subsidies - to start.

Hand the $20 back and keep the guy employed. It's good for the economy.

BTW, what did you buy? :)
