Scale trading can be done using several different formulas as well. One that has been around a long time is the A.I.M. method by Robert Lichello. Mathematically it is hard to argue with scale trading, but unless you have a large well of cash I think it is very difficult to do. The results are also highly contingent upon the type of market you happen to encounter going forward.

I personally have been looking seriously at applying some type of scale trading system to forex. I think with some patience and low expectations you could develop a fairly good approach that would simply grind out profits over the long haul. The toughest part in my analysis is trying to figure out how much cash you need and how much leverage to use.
