As this is the first year I have rental property, I could use some help in determining if the following are deductible as expenses on Schedule E:

1) I understand that airfare for travel is deductible as expense if the main purpose of the trip is to look after rental property. Is the airfare for a spouse also deductible?

2) Are meals during travel to look after rental property a deductible expense? Can I claim a standard meal allowance? Again, are meals for spouse included?

Appreciate any assistance you can provide!!!
