School buses aren't that hard to drive. An 18 year old kid without a liscence drove one all the way to Houston.

I would assume they are at least as difficult as a car to drive. And beleive it or not, a lot of people in urban areas don't have a drivers license and don't know how to drive.

I think you could have found some volunteers if you didn't have any regular drivers.

I'm not so sure of that.

I know that was the city of New Orleans plan, to count on volunteers to help evacuate. And that mayor is responsible for that plan. And I certainly agree it was a stupid plan.

But once push comes to shove, how many drivers were available?
