Scott,

I am no financial wizard, but I would be reluctant to lock in money for five years for my 77 year old parents. My Mom is 77 and I have her money in CDs and money market accounts. Very liquid for the remaining years in her life and little to no risk. I'm sure that others will have more knowledgeable advice, but I like to have mom's money available to her now rather than in five years when who knows if she will be living.
