Scottrade has a form that you should sign authorizing you to access and trade on her accounts. I signed a form when I opened an account. I could have skipped that step but there could be potential problems if something in the future goes wrong.

Yeah, I figured out looking at their website that they had the exact same form I asked for, which makes me wonder how much training those brokers got who were helping me out, since they really had no idea what I was talking about.
