NY Times has an article today on jailing of tax scofflaws.

Excerpts (paraphrased):

A California couple who helped their clients evade at least $13.8 million in federal income taxes were sentenced to long prison terms yesterday, sentences the judge extended after they said the tax laws were invalid and did not apply to them....

Dorothy and George Harrison of Roseville CA were sententenced respectively to more than 11 years and six and a half years in prison...

Mrs. Henderson insisted on making a speech about the 861 position... Her lawyer said (paraphrasing again) "I told her she was being a lunkhead but she wouldn't listen..." He said that as a consequence, the judge added 5 months onto her sentence, and 8 months onto his, beyond what the prosecution requested.

Here's the link, I hope.
