Selena,

I just bought a new Passat with a sunroof.

It is not aftermarket. It gives the impression of being very high quality - I certainly don't expect mine to leak.

I cannot imagine that it would affect the anti-theft options, although I am not sure what options you might be referring to. The new Passat comes standard with a theft-deterrent alarm system.

How the sunroof affects safety? You may be able to find some information at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov

Yes, the Passat is fun to drive. That's why I bought it instead of the Honda Accord. Also, it is so much nicer looking. You should test drive one before buying - to experience fahrvegnugen.

There is a nice mailing list for Passat owners at http://www.onelist.com - search for "vwpassat".
