Has anyone spent time optimizing your blog for search engines? I am interested in what others do and will share what I have learned in the past couple months. My only expenses were a web report generator (weblog expert) using raw server logs and a couple books. I use my own installation of Wordpress (very easy to do). I pay some local guy to use diskspace and bandwidth on his server. My wife uses bluehost.com for her business but I don't know if they give her a ssh shell. Maybe that comes with cPanel but I have not looked into her site. Fantastico came on my cPanel and installed my blog locally in about 2 minutes. There isn't much to Wordpress - only several php scripts. I have manually upgraded Wordpress a couple times and that was easy for me - but I am a software engineer. It may be tricky for non-geeky types.Anyhow, if anyone wants to get a discussion going in this thread I have a couple tips (as a non-pro blogger). Here is a post I wrote yesterday about traffic at my blog. http://ptv-investing.com/blog/2008/05/03/thanks-for-visiting-ptv-investing/Andy
