'seven reasons why India will not become a superpower.'

Isn't that a good thing?
(I thought you read Taleb, and actually listened to what he had to say about being fooled by randomness?)

Becoming a superpower is highly over rated. Like becoming a super salesman / blockbuster/ best seller...

It's merely the momentary suspension of the inevitable law of gravity, (or, if you prefer, the first law of cartoon motion)

"Any body suspended in space will remain in space until made aware of its situation. Daffy Duck steps off a cliff, expecting further pastureland. He loiters in midair, soliloquizing flippantly, until he chances to look down. At this point, the familiar principle of 32 feet per second per second takes over."

BTW - the Brits had an equally long list of why India would implode the minute they removed their imperial boots from its throat. Still waiting.

Think about it. Do you really want a billion plus Indians swaggering around the place playing global supercop like every other superpower we've survived till now?
