SG: Seventy years? I have never studied any prehistoric population that came anywhere close to this target. Disease, food poison, accident, and poor nutrition have taken their toll on every group.

Assuming your experience is mainly in the Southwest, aren't those peoples just about all farmers and herders? We are mainly familiar with the ones who left buildings - Canyon de Chenny, Mesa Verde, Casa Grande, Chaco Canyon, etc. One of the problems with hunter-gatherers is that they didn't leave as much evidence as the more settled peoples.
