Some of y'all like retail ideas, so I thought I'd post this here.Rachel Fox- if the name doesn't sound familiar, she's the 16-yo actress who is involved intrading stocks. In an earlier interview, she indicated she traded on short term trends.I guess it is easy to write her off and say, "she's just a kid" or "she hasn't been tested", "small change", etc. I was aware she had a blog site but I hadn't actually visited the siteuntil today. She seems way ahead of the crowdhttp://foxonstocks.com/So a couple of things stick out1. She's got ads on her site, so she's probably at least covering the costs of her blog. While only 8 months worth, the fact that she has steady updates would suggest stocktrading doesn't appear to be just a passing teenage hobby. I mean, while she may loseinterest over a period of time, at this time, she seems to enjoy the activity enoughto blog on stocks 2. She created her own index, MyGenLoves index. I know, I know, "teen-speak", but she'salready come up with an index! Whether she and her friends are a diverse enoughrepresentation of the teenage population is one issue. But the fact that she indicatedthe index is dynamic would suggest she open minded to the idea that she could right or wrong. As simplistic as it sounds, I kinda drifted back to my recollection of Peter Lynch'ssuggestion, "invest in what you know". I wonder if she's read any of the Lynch books yet? Regardless, she's 16 and already seems to be applying some Lynch principles. On basic investing, I would say she's way, way ahead of the average teen, and probably ahead of many adults too.
