Everybody,Today, the company announced (http://www.rclinvestor.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=103045&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=942274&highlight=) that Pullmantur's MV Blue Moon (nee MV R7 of now defunct Renaissance Cruises) will join the Celebrity Cruises fleet as MV Celebrity Quest in the fall of 2007, to operate exotic itineraries as part of the "Celebrity Expeditions" program. She follows Pullmantur's sister MV Blue Dream (nee MV R6 of Renaissance Cruises), to become MV Celebrity Journey in the spring of 2007.Last October, the company announced (http://www.rclinvestor.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=103045&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=923985&highlight=) that MV Celebrity Journey would operate the "Bermuda" itineraries originally announced for MV Zenith, which will go to Pullmantur in the spring of 2007, and then operate exotic itineraries as part of the "Celebrity Expeditions" program. Today's announcement provides the destinations for both vessels for the winter 2007-2008 season, when MV Celebrity Journey will cruise to Brazil (Amazon?), the Chilean fjords, and Antarctica while MV <i. Celebrity Quest will offer "Caribbean" and "Panama Canal" (full transit) itineraries with exotic ports of call that cannot accommodate larger vessels. Today's announcement also provides the following details of facilities, amenities, and service that both vessels will offer. Unique to Celebrity Journey and Celebrity Quest will be a more exclusive guest experience, with two specialty restaurants, 15 classes of accommodations, butler service and concierge amenities in every stateroom and suite, and expanded spa services, including in-room offerings. Both Celebrity Journey and Celebrity Quest will undergo a combined $35-million revitalization during separate one-month drydock periods to incorporate 32 new suites on each ship, entirely new bedding and soft goods, and a variety of Celebrity's most popular signature elements, including the Martini Bar, Cova Cafe, Sushi Cafe, Michael's Club jazz/piano bar, casino, Boutique C, AquaSpa by Elemis, Acupuncture at Sea and Online@Celebrity. Most of the work in the shipyard seems to be cosmetic, including new signage, to apply Ceelbrity's names to existing facilities, but the new suites replace forty-eight (48) existing cabins on the aft half of Deck 8 (two suites replacing three standard cabins) and thus will involve relocaton and removal of bulkheads, plumbing, and wiring in that area of the ship. With this annoncement and the delivery of the three vessels of the Solstice class that are now on order (http://www.rclinvestor.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=103045&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=883048&highlight=), Celebrity's fleet will grow by one ship per year from the present eight ships to twelve ships at the end of 2010.Norm.
