Is anybody out there aware of what the tax implications would be, if any, of shorting a stock that you are currently long? The reason I'm considering this is that I would like to sell portions of 2 stocks that I am currently long, but do not want to realize any capital gains this year due to Roth IRA conversion limitations. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. Michael/Chicago
