Hi,I had been unFoolishly putting off investing in a Roth IRA for this year until now. I have heard that it is not good idea to invest in a fund in the 4th Quarter because of capital gains distributions and the resulting tax consequences. Should I wait until next year or should I invest now? Thanks.-Sri
Well, since you are investing within a Roth, it doesn't matter(The taxes that is). However, if where you are investing has an annual fee check to see if it pro-rated or something so that you aren't paying for something you didn't take advantage of all year long.JB
You won't be affected by the distributions in an IRA. I think it would behoove you to put money in if you haven't allready.
