Leading Sales and Marketing Event to Feature Scott Adams,

Geoffrey Moore, Robert Kriegel

Attendees at DCI's Sales Force Automation Conference and Exposition in San Jose, CA., will be treated to an insightful, oftentimes irreverent, look at many of the strategies that will contribute to business success in the 21st century. Best selling business authors Scott Adams (The Dilbert Principle), Geoffrey Moore (Crossing the Chasm and Inside the Tornado), and Dr. Robert Kriegel (Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers and If It Ain't Broke ...BREAK IT) will present their perspectives on how to cope with the challenges posed in today's marketplace.

The DCI event at the San Jose Convention Center, September 16-18, 1997, the world's leading sales and marketing automation conference, will feature over 125 educational sessions and more than 300 live product demonstrations. Included in the conference agenda will be several new tracks focusing on today's sales force automation solutions and the management and technical skills required to implement them.

Featured conference topics will include Total Customer Management: Key to the Future; Implementing Sales Automation Best Practices; Supercharging Sales with the Latest Technology; Empowering the 21st Century Sales Manager; and Marketing Automation. In addition, the event will feature an all new program dedicated to using the Internet to increase sales by meeting the needs of specific customers on a "one-to-one" basis.

Scott Adams, who has been described as "the pre-eminent business thinker and observer of the late 20th century," will discuss his perception of the truths of today's corporate world and present his unique take on modern business. His presentation, "The Dilbert Principle", will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Geoffrey Moore's presentation "Product Organizations Are From Mars; Service Organizations Are From Venus", on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 10:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will outline models for Product/Service Mix Strategy, provide a framework for best practices, and discuss common strategy mistakes that can be avoided in the future.

Dr. Robert Kriegel, one of the country's most popular business speakers, will discuss how to develop and lead change-ready people and organizations, and round up the `sacred cows' that prevent change and new opportunities. He will speak on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Additional keynote addresses will be given by Conference Co- Chairs Barton Goldenberg, President, ISM, Inc., and Tim Bajarin, President, Creative Strategies, Inc.; Tom Siebel, Chairman and CEO, Siebel Systems, Inc.; Mary Coleman, President and CEO, Aurum Software, Inc.; Dave Stamm, President and CEO, Clarify, Inc.; Jeff Raikes, Vice President, Microsoft Corp.; Christopher Lochhead, Executive Vice President, The Vantive Corp.; Barry Trailer, Co- Founder, Trailer Vavricka, Inc.; and George Colombo, Author, Sales Force Automation.

Also included on the conference agenda will be two "hands on" certification programs. "SFA Road Map 2000: Highway to the 21st Century," is a three-day, eight-step program that will guide attendees through the implementation of high performance Sales Force Automation Strategies. Attendees will receive certification as a Sales Automation Implementation Specialist. A separate, three-day workshop will provide intensive training in selling and marketing via the Internet, and will lead to certification as an Internet Marketing Master.

The DCI event will also host The Customer Revolution Summit, sponsored by Aurum Software, Inc., Hewlett Packard, and Sales and Field Force Automation Magazine. The one-day executive conference on Thursday, Sept. 18, will provide a definitive road map to marketing, selling and providing customer service in the 21st century.

Running concurrently with DCI's Sales Force Automation Conference will be the Sales Management Conference And Expo, co-sponsored by Sales and Marketing Management Magazine. This event will feature more than 40 sessions in the following tracks: Sales Leadership; Management Strategies; Motivation & Training; and Managing the Impact of Technology.

DCI, headquartered in Andover, MA, is a world leader in high technology educational trade shows. A second DCI Sales Force Automation Conference and Exposition will be held at Boston's Hynes Convention Center, Dec. 2-4, 1997.
