Simple answer---alternative facts?

Yes, here is the alternative fact.

The DOW first hit 10,000 in the spring of 1999. I remember this as I still have my Dow 10,000 hat.

The DOW first hit 20,000 in Jan 2017.

Jan 2017- March 1999 is roughly equal to 17-18 years. It took just under 18 years for the DOW to double from hitting 10,000 to 20,000.

Let's hope it doesn't take another 17-18 years to double to 40,000.
