In honor of Earth Day, Oprah did a piece yesterday on cutting out waste. She had on a couple families and a single woman who cut down on waste in their lives. She even took on her own company, Harpo. They set up cameras at the beverage area of the company and watched how many took paper cups. No one, it seems, re-used their cups or brought their own to the counter.

Her accountant said they spend $850 per WEEK on paper cups for a total of about $41,000 per YEAR!!! Oprah had the closets locked for a day, and everyone had to take care of themselves for cups. They all managed just fine. O said it would be a permanent thing.

Ain't Earth Day grand! lol
