Since nobody in this thread seems to have read anything other than lonestar, let me suggest some places to start.

Go to www.amazon.com and look for Year 2000 books. There are about 35. Must reading is Ed and Jennifer Yourdon's "Timebomb 2000".

For a ton of articles from the world press, see http://www.year2000.com/y2karticles.html.

Also http://www.yardeni.com.

There are several hundred web sites devoted to Year 2000 issues, ranging from vendors to survivalists. http://www.westergard.com is another good one. For the extremist view, see http://www.garynorth.com (carry your own dose of salt).

That should give you enough to chew on for a while.

Anybody that think GM is spending $500M just because some consultant hyped Y2K doesn't know much about GM or American business. Ditto Citibank and many others.
