Since teachers (of which I am one) and doctors are notorious for not understanding finances; and, I am at the end of my career and you are just starting yours I will pass along a few tips for whatever they are worth. Talk to an accountant, a life insurance person and a stock broker, or two of each. Most all of them are trained as financial planners and can start giving you an education on the many different avenues you can take. Just keep in mind they usually represent special products, which they are selling, so don't buy anything until you have explored them all and done additional ivestigating on your own. Remember no one will be more concerned about your money then you are.
