With Oh Canada playing and slowly rising to a crescendo in the background ... :>)

Hey, I'm not a gambler or a penny-stock risk taker.
I don't invest in igloo renovations or the fur industry,
And I don't own a single gold or silver mine stock certificate from the 1800's.

I don't know all the stocks on the CDNX,
Although I'm sure some of them might be good companies.

I have an RRSP, not an IRA.
Foreign content is an investment limit, not a fear of immigrants.
A Governor is in charge of the Bank of Canada, not a mere Secretary.

I buy things with a loonie, not a dollar bill.

I'm proud that JDS Uniphase and Nortel Networks have their roots in Canada.
Quebec's Bombardier builds trains and airplanes as well as ski-doos.
ATI Technologies supplies video chips to the likes of Dell and Compaq.
The first transatlantic wireless signal was received by Marconi on Signal Hill in Newfoundland.
The telecommunications industry was founded by Alexander Graham Bell in Baddeck, Nova Scotia.
Ballard, the leading fuel cell developer, is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, not Detroit.
And the programming language responsible for the ubiquitous Java applets was developed in Calgary, Alberta.

I believe in Medicare and the CBC.
This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and begins a half hour later in Newfoundland.
Air Canada is a real airline.
Coloured light is emitted from lasers and travels through fibre optic networks,
And it's all measured in metric units, not Imperial.

The TSE is a stock exchange, not a tropical fly.
It closes on Victoria Day but not on Memorial Day.
Silicon Valley North is a suburb of Ottawa, not some place in Northern California.
We once voted against any truck or trade with the Yankees,
But now embrace Free Trade wholeheartedly.

Canada has been a source of some of America's most important industrial innovations and ideas, and is her largest trading partner.
We gave her hockey,
And we practically own her entertainment industry - yes, blame Canada!
