All my smart investor brethen, can you give me a hand?
I have read some articles indicating that small-caps (1) normally (past 70 years) outperform larger-caps, (2) they are particularly undervalued in relation to larger-caps at this time, (3) the S&P500 has grown unusually over the past five years, this is not likely to be supported by future earnings, and the large-cap index therefore little chance of decent performance in the next 5-10 years.

I believe in index investing for retirement. I will retire in 10-20 years. I come to the conclusion that I should put my retirement investment in a small-cap index fund.

I would love to hear any comments validating or refuting this argument.
