Post Dispatch today has story from Smithfield Foods on their efforts to comply with modern day expectations--

The story is from a recent pork conference in St. Louis, but Smithfield apparently has become a major employer in Missouri from a series of acquisitions. That includes Cook's hams and Butterball Turkeys.
