OK, I have seen the previews and I think I am going to have to tune into a couple of episodes. The plot as I understand it is that a bunch of nutty fundies handle venomous snakes to prove and/or validate their faith.

I suppose there is the possibility that they managed to round up some rather docile snakes or that they use some other technique to make the snakes sluggish (for example keeping the snakes cool). For a balanced scientific test they should have some non-believers handle the same serpents and see what the bite rate is between the groups. I suspect that there might be difficulty finding non-religious volunteers for such a test.

At any rate this promises to be entertaining, I will be rooting for the snakes to tag a few of these idiots, hopefully the leaders. Maybe we should all pitch in and buy them a Black Mamba or a Fer-de-lance to really convince us of their faith.

Sept 10th 9pm EST National Geographic Channel.
