so 25,000 people die of starvation every day, and the Creator of the Universe is focused on Joel Osteen's travel arrangements? That's beyond creepy. If that's what passes for theology these days I will gladly throw my lot in with the atheists. Yikes. As creepy as all of this appears when it written out, it is actually pretty standard theology, at lest in this country. The wandering pet that is found and returned by someone from the next block, finding a good parking place at the mall, the officer letting you off without a ticket, making it to the next gas station when the fuel gauge says "E", getting first class airline tickets, people give God the credit when these things happen. I think it is a natural response to the notion of the omni cubed creator of the universe. And I don't think it is a case of the Creator of the Universe being focused on Osteen's travel arrangements at the expense of other things, it is just a way of saying that the Creator is in charge of everything and we are to give thanks for the blessings in our life. But yeah, I agree, it sounds creepy when so many people lack for so much while the preacher is celebrating first class seats on an airplane. And the excesses of some other big name tv "evangelists" which have drawn media attention recently is equally disturbing. However, as troubling as all this is, I am not prepared to throw my lot in with the atheists.
