So I called the merchant: turns out that this merchant was affiliated with the CCC. Hum!Aha!The merchant investigated how I got joined up for their membership. According to their records, I agreeed during a telemarketing call. This was quite strange as #1)I never accept any telemarketing calls and #2) I was out of town on business on that particular day. The merchant agreed to cancel the membership and reimburse any charges.Aha! Aha!Does this happen to other people too? Yep. First USA used to have a big problem with this. I haven't heard of it in a few months, however. First USA's CSR's themselves used to post on First Scams* about the problem, and kept us cardholders in the loop about what the company was doing. First USA finally terminated the 3rd-party relationship over too many false billings.Robb*First Scams - First USA customers speak out at http://members.tripod.com/fusa1/
