So I used it wisely, only putting one $20 Christmas present, $18 worth of gas, and one trip to CVS on there... and there the balance is, back to $53. Now, I can afford to pay this off on the 25th when the bill is due. That's not the problem. The problem (well, maybe it's not exactly a problem, per se) is that I don't like the feeling of 'free money' I get when I use cards, and then the sinking feeling I get when I realize how quickly the things I put on there add up!

I think that the way you feel shows that you're better off by not using the credit cards. I think that a debit card is indeed a good move for you.

Credit cards (even when paid off each month) aren't for everyone. You have to be comfortable in your financial management, and if you're not comfortable then that's a clear sign. :)
