So, what is IUI? Has anyone tried it? When, in the cycle of treatment, do they generally recommend it?

Me too, too. ;-)

I've read some descriptions of the procedure, but what I DON'T know is where it falls in terms of what to try next. When I went to my gynecologist and told him my soon-to-be-husband and I were planning to try to have children, he sent me straight to an IVF clinic (at which, I mentioned, we received a sales pitch that would have put our local Ford dealership to shame). The suggestion seemed to be that we'd better get science involved RIGHT AWAY, because Mother Nature just wasn't going to do it for us.

So where does IUI fall in the grand scheme of things? Is it less intrusive than IVF? How about the chance of multiples?

Thanks to all,
