So what ya'll gonna do in three years when you don't have Mr. B to kick around anymore?

Be grateful.

Seriously. I disliked the Republican presidents we've had during my voting lifetime (1983 - present), but I'd vote for any of them and be darned happy doing it if the alternative were Bush. I'd vote for just about any of the Republican candidates during that period over George W. When Bush took office in 2000, I thought it was going to be no worse than George Sr.'s presidency.

Boy, was I wrong. I thought we'd get a little pressure on some of our civil liberties, but I was thinking abortion rights, not wiretapping, torture, and imprisonment without due process. On the positive side I thought we'd see some government spending cuts, albeit not in areas I'd prefer them, not a ballooning of the federal budget. I didn't expect military adventurism, but if I had, I would have expected something quick and decisive, like George Sr's Desert Storm or Reagan's Grenada thing. Never would I have dreamed that Bush II would start his own Vietnam.

I didn't like Kerry. I didn't like Gore. I didn't really want to see either of them in the White House, but neither of them could have possibly spent as many Federal dollars as Bush has.
