So, what you now have in T-Bird can and will continue to Function and Operate, as is, for forever, even if they wouldn't any longer provide any Updates!!!

I agree with most of your post, but not this. Vendors continually change their operating systems and the application programming interface to it. If the vendor (if that is the proper term for Thunderbird) does not continually modify its program to keep up with the ever-changing OS interfaces, they will die.
