So you can either live in fear or you can live and keep a watchful eye on your account just like pre internet - you decide

You make valid points. I don't consider myself as "living in fear" though, just because I avoid internet transactions.

Generally when I walk into a WalMart and buy something, chances are It's not a store posing as WalMart.

Call it a fear, a phobia, an unreasonable aversion. I do think however, that always limiting the use of cards, is prudent. Actually, in fact, living frugal or below your means and always making minimal transactions and spending, is kinda what a big theme of TMF is.

Though I speak with forked tongue, I am a fan of finding reasons, reasonable or otherwise, to keep the old card tucked away as much as possible. Considering the internet as evil, is as good a reason as any I guess.
