The BMJ shocked health care providers in the US with a study that stated mammograms did not improve patient outcomes.

This op-ed points out the study (performed by the Canadian Health care system) was deeply flawed in elementary ways. Ways that you would think would prevent its publication.
1. Technicians were not given the proper training to perform the diagnostic
2. Radiologists not trained for examining the mammograms the results
3. Old, outdated machines were used
4. Patients suspected of more advanced cancers were preferentially assigned to the mammogram group AND the researchers knew which patients were assigned to which groups.

Which makes me suspicious that maybe the NHS & CNBCSS were looking for justification to drop these diagnostic procedures to save costs.
