Last week, Mom tearfully said goodbye to Jasmine. The guy from Animal Control came out and picked her up. Mom's neighbor, who loved the dog but is in significantly worse helath than Mom, was very upset about it. So upset, she called her daughter and son in law to see if they could help.

The daughter and son in law also love Jasmine, but already have 6 small dogs at their home. Nevertheless, D, the neighbors daughter went straight down to the shelter and put in a request to adopt Jasmine. She was turned down.

She called a local rescue group, and they adopted Jasmine out of the shelter and now have her fostering with D & her husband. They live outside the city limits, and while the rescue will look for a new owner, chances are good that Jasmine will end up staying with them for the rest of her life. A vet checked her out and found that she was running a temp and had blood in her stool, but he thinks it's due to the stress of being in the shelter. She's on antibiotics. Amazingly, even after living outside exclusively and not being on heartworm preventatives, she tested negative for heartworms.

Mom sounded so happy. It made me feel good to know that this worry is out of her mind.
