Peter Lynch made a favorable St. Louis Bread comment in an article in his column in Worth Magazine sometime around November of 1996. Has anyone heard any news about Au Bon Pain lately? I heard they are in the process of selling their manufacturing plant which will give them cash to more quickly expand St. Louis Bread and help their operating margins quite dramatically. This should make this stock much more attractive if it happens.

Peter Lynch says the future of Au Bon Pain is St. Louis Bread. Has anyone seen one of these stores?

Here's the URL for the Au Bon Pain web site:

http://www.boston.com/aubonpain/index.html

From there you can e-mail comments to the company. I sent them a message yesterday expressing my concern over the rumored name change of Saint Louis Bread to "Panera Bread" (whatever "Panera" means?). I say "rumored" because I've seen no official word from the company about it, but I suspect it's true. Anyway, if you feel like me, that this is a BAD MOVE on the part of management, let them know !!
