Some women from a BC survivors group contacted my mom before and after her surgery. They were very helpful and supportive of her through the whole process. She was really greatful for the support. You might want to look for a BC survivors group in your area. They are a great source of information. They might be able to help you with the insurance question, too.

I'm coming into this late, so I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but studies have shown that people who participate in support groups tend to do better than people who don't. It helps to have someone to talk to who knows what you're going through.

Please find a group for your own emotional health.
