Several years ago, my wife and I decided to drive from our home in
Mississippi to our son's home in New Jersey. We had a car we had
"borrowed" or at least given a temporary home to that we needed to
return to its owner, our son, so we drove two cars to our destination.
I was driving the "borrowed" car and as we drove through Alabama,
Eastern Tennessee, to our half-way point in Southwestern Virginia,
I noticed the brkes were a little soft. After a good nights rest we
continued the journey via route 81 to Pennsylvania, then by Route 76
to Easton, PA. Naturally, we stopped for meals and other physical
needs en route. OUr travel in New Jersey took us to our destination
via I-78 and I-287. We drove into our son's parking area by his house.
He came out to greet us and look over the "borrowed" car we had just
returned. I mentioned casually that the brakes were a bit soft. He
said, " let me see", and he climbed into the driver's seat. He pushed on the brakes. " My God", he said, " they are completely gone!"
