Sorry for the late reply, Ted. I know what you mean. Virginia is in the South, but to me down here in Texas, it's (geographically) very far north.
But Wiki says Waco is Central Texas, though, of course, Wiki may not be the be-all and end-all authority.

We Austonites think Hueco is an entirely different planet. Just something you have to go through to get to Dallas or Fort Worth (which claims it's where the west begins. Try telling that to someone from Abilene or Midland or El Paso.
