Sorry, maybe I'm a little dense, but it is not explanation enough for me. I know that if one takes more risk, the interest rate is higher. However, the explanation I heard for the rise in the muni mm funds was that presently there are so many funds dumping holdings to raise capital that there is an excess of supply, driving down the prices (and thus raising the yields).
