The difference in the talk over the last couple of months is what is now accepted as 3G. The technology to be rolled out this year (3g 1x) hasn't changed, but up until recently, that was considered 2.5G, with 3G coming out in a few years. For whatever reason, people are now calling it 3G.

And some of the same people that claim 1x is indeed 3G also contend that EDGE is still 2.5G or even worse, "vaporware".

All the "first to 3G" talk is a big waste of time and a distraction to investors, IMO.

Dave, I agree. But they will all use it for marketing...you can bet on that.

That's very good news buddy, its probably CDMA2000 that they are going to run as I believe that Qualcomm has that up and ready to go.

Too bad they're playing catchup to Ricochet.

Rt (throwing his arms up in frustration) says:

Why is this board so anti-CDMA?

You call me in 5 years when 3G CDMA is entrenched and Ricochet is but a memory.

Try superimposing a metricom chart vs a Qualcomm chart. I think the market has spoken.
