one of the 1099's I just received had our Federal ID number as 000-00-0000 instead of 00-0000000

The numbers are the same but the dashes basicly show it as a Social Security Number instead of a business Federal ID Number.

Is this a problem?

When I called the bank (where the 1099 came from) they said their system just puts the dashes in for them and that it doesn't matter.

I would be reporting the interest anyway, so that is not the concern.

Is the IRS going to be looking for a return for a SSN?
