ST, while I understand that your friend thinks that she lost the ring in a certain area, encourage her to retrace her steps from earlier in the day.DH was convinced that he lost a ring in a hotel room on a business trip several years ago. He moved furniture, checked the carpet under the bed, passed everything over with a flashlight, found nothing and resigned himself that it was lost forever.A year later, we were looking for something else in the bedroom with a flashlight and it caught a glimmer under the bed. Lo and behold, the ring had fallen up against the wall between the nightstand and the bed.DH had been positive he was wearing the ring the day before he discovered it was not on the nightstand. He was certain that he saw it next to his watch (where he always takes it off and leaves it at night), but there was no way he could have seen it there, given that he'd left it at home without realizing it.LWW
