Stamper and Lake Effect,

I think I can agree with both of you - the market as a whole is not a screaming buy right now, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. In fact, market conditions like these are possibly the best for a port like ours to start - investor confidence has been hurt which is bound to have created some oppurtunities but we have to practise discipline and learn from the mistakes of the Rule Maker. Additionally, it doesn't hurt to have some ideas on hand for buying when the oppurtunity presents itself.

There have been a lot of ideas presented here in the last couple of months and for the port to move forward I think we need to look closer at some of them. For each stock I'd like to see two issues addressed that aren't currently part of the criteria - competitive advantage and a suggested buy price that gives sufficient margin of safety.

Therefore I suggest that each of us selects a Boring stock and reports back to the board in a little more detail than we've had in the past. Recommend to buy or not, and if the recommendation is to buy then state a price. If the board agrees and if we have any stocks we think are currently "buys" then we can start the port going.
