Start with getting rid of the pension...Especially the President. Obama will get $1,000,000 per speech once he leaves office. No different than Bush or Clinton or anyone else going forward. He'll get over $20,000,000 from his autobiography alone. There's absolutely no need for pensions for elected officials.

Even members of Congress after one term get good deals.

I like the idea of fining them for every day there isn't a budget in place. Balanced budgets are nice, but my fear is that once it becomes mandanatory the politicians will just play with the numbers back loading everything so it looks balanced in year 1 and not so much in year 10. Plus all 10 year budget predictions are wrong, even if not intentional
