So, I am seriously considering starting a brand new practice in a relatively small town, that is being developed like crazy (probably too fast), and is servies by 3 urologists already. The spot has been picked by the wife, so that at least is decided. I spoke with the group there, and they sounded...not so interested in a 4th partner.

Of course, I am like every other medical student --> resident. No experience in business. What are the main factors to consider about 1 year out from the opening of a new practice?

What is going to be the hardest part(s) of the next year?

There is only one hospital in town. Can the group exert pressure on my creditialing there? If so, how do I fight back?
