Is It Stealing From God to Split Your Tithe Between the Church and Other Charities?

http://lists.christianitytoday.com/t/139462537/9444838/54861...

Ancient Isreal did not have an annual tithe of 10% of a person's income to support the temple or synagogue.

The early Christian church did not have an annual tithe of 10% of a person's income to support the church.

Tithing to the church by all members is a relatively modern idea. It results in nice church buildings, full time paid staff, bishops, denominations and conferences in Miami, and some good work for the poor and disadvantaged.

Think of all the good that could be done if we didn't have nice church buildings, full time paid staff, bishops, denominations and conferences in Miami.

WWJD?
