Hi gang,

Does anyone out there know how to format an Excel spreadsheet so I can get stock quotes?

Thanks,

I don't know what version of Excel you are running, but the process is similar for all recent versions.

On the tool bar:

Select: Data
Select: Import External Data
Select: Import Data
Select: MSN Money Central Stock Quotes
Click: OK
Enter: Stock Symbols

Works like a charm. Imports mutual fund data and indices also.

That doesn't seem to be available in Excel 2000 :(

I have been downloading stock quotes I believe since Excel 97. The process may be different, but I believe the capability is there somewhere. You might try Excel Help. Search on "stock" and see if this points you in the right direction.

You might try this procedure, I found over at the "Spreadsheet Advice" board. As you will see, it is slightly different. Good luck.
