Stop giving away game leads, playing bad D and taking horrible penalties! I ordered NHL Center Ice for you suckers! I don't think they're taking any worse penalties than any other team... they're just adjusting like all of the league us. Their special teams haven't been that bad, anyway. And if you ordered Center Ice just for one team, you overpaid no matter who it is. There's a lot better hockey out there than any one team (shyah, esPECially the Avs) can possibly play. We need some toughness. Not cheapshotters. Brad May is not going to cut it. With only one or two games since he joined the lineup, being hard on May might be a stretch, but you're right that he alone is not going to cut it. What I'm seeing in terms of the toughness factor, is how desperately much they miss Forsberg and Foote. It's becoming more apparent that, along with Dan Hinote (who's still there), they were the soul and spirit of this team. Forsberg, for all the diving and the injuries, plays a tough brand of hockey (even if he's not a fighter). Steve Konowalchuk is also a lunchbucket guy, but I think he hasn't been there long enough and doesn't have the scoring skills to be an effective team leader. It's too early to write this season off, but I think you'll see a different look (more energy) when Sakic and Blake are gone. You might even see Sakic do a new deal to stay in Colorado next season. -n8
