Some investment/financial advisement newsletters say never place stop-losses in the market and others say it makes absolutely no difference whether you keep a spread-sheet of stop-loss positions or place them in the market. I happen to use Sharebuilder and place my stops with them. Would someone explain WHETHER it is best to keep track of stop-losses out of the market or just list them so that they are automatically acted upon if that price is reached?
