We started down the fertility treatment road, with all the torture that brings. But then we decided why not adopt from foster care? We could have a beautiful son or daughter to focus our energy on rather than spending money and energy in a doctor's office. And we got a gorgeous baby boy. A year later we were called with the offer of his gorgeous newborn brother.

I regret every second I spent agonizing over basal body temps and counting days of the calendar. A waste of time and thought when there are lovely children out there in need of homes and parents and love. Babies. And it costs nothing! In fact, the county then pays YOU money (hey college fund!) each month till the child is 18, even after the adoption is finalized. Plus full access to medical care for that child till 18.

Consider adopting from foster care. There are babies, there are healthy children, and you can have the family you want so badly. Being a parent means thinking of someone else before yourself. And there are children right here in the USA that need parents. Best decision we ever made.
